University of York VX Club is the first fully ratified, university backed VX club in the world. It is home to a variety of players, ranging from novices to world champions. Lead by a team of students, the club aims for an inclusive social atmosphere, supplying competitive and friendly events throughout the year to its members.
University of York VX Club was founded in January 2014. Having been only running for just under four years, the club has grown quite respectfully, doubling it’s membership numbers every year. The club started out being ran by ex-England Star Jack Brown, having dragged some of his university friends to the squash courts to give the sport a go. From there, the club has grown to be one of the largest VX clubs in the country. The club’s committee has worked hard to produce what can be seen as clean cut sessions, using their experienced players knowledge to their greatest advantage. Using parts of an Accelerated Growth Programme, players have developed skills quite quickly, producing some great game play and skill demonstrations. The club currently accepts all abilities in the sport of VX, promoting inclusiveness in sport and differentiation in coaching.
